Tatyana Golikova

Dear competitors and guests of the Competition,

The 7th WorldSkills Russia National Competition is one of the biggest events in our country in terms of importance, scale and level of organisation. More than 40 thousand competitors from all regions of Russia are involved in the Union “Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia)” movement. Thanks to the activities of the Union “Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia)”, we have witnessed qualitative changes in the system of vocational education. More and more young people choose skilled jobs, and the number of opportunities for professional improvement and development keeps growing.

The movement aimed at raising personnel training standards has become all-Russian. Both very young people and elder people joined the young professionals: our country was the first to hold competitions for juniors and the Wise Skills competitions for specialists above 50.

A new generation of competitive and sought-after high-class specialists is emerging in Russia. Their skills are necessary for the development of our country, for the growth of our new economy, implementation of large investment projects, and creation of high-tech industries. Skills competitions allow practicing methods of training such personnel and then widely sharing them, as well as promote skilled jobs — because every time the visitors become part of a real celebration.

I wish all the competitors of the 7th WorldSkills Russia National Competition outstanding achievements. I am sure that such a unique experience will largely determine your future career path!

Tatyana Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia for Social Policy, Labour, Health and Pension Provision
